Wedding Videography F.A.Q.

Question: What exactly will I receive?

Answer: All videography packages include a pre-wedding consultation, either by phone, e-mail, or in person. This way we will be able to customize your videography coverage and ensure that your final product will be exactly what you are looking for.

The final product you receive will be a video consisting of comprehensive wedding coverage. You will essentially be a guest at your own wedding. There will be no music overlaying the ceremony or reception. We do edit the footage for a better viewing experience, but overall the events will unfold exactly the way they did that day.

Your wedding video will come with a personalized case, disc with cover art printed directly onto it, as well as a DVD menu with chapter selection. The menu includes buttons for the Ceremony, Reception (if included), and Scene Selection. If you included any add-ons (ex: Highlight Video, Picture Slideshow, Love Story, Rehearsal Coverage, Wedding Film, or Bridal Preparation), they will also have a button on the main menu.

Question: How much experience do you have with wedding videos?

Answer: Video production has always been my passion. While working towards my media production degree at UWSP, I worked for two wedding videography companies where I was able to get a feel for the experience. After graduating in 2008, I officially started Vaughter Weddings. I love spending time with couples on one of the most meaningful days of their lives. Being able to capture the love and joy of each wedding I film is an amazing feeling, and one I look forward to experiencing for years to come.

Question: What is the benefit of having a second videographer?

Answer: Our Platinum packages include a second videographer at the ceremony and reception. The second videographer gets more shots and a second angle of all the action. For pre-ceremony coverage, two videographers means we would be able to simultaneously get footage of both the bride and groom as they await the ceremony. Two videographers also means that we will be able to get more close-ups of priceless moments during the ceremony. For the reception, it means that if an obstruction or guest gets in the way, our videographers will still get seamless coverage.

Question: Will I be able to hear the vows, speeches, etc?

Answer: We use a wireless lapel microphone on the groom or the officiant to capture the best quality audio at the ceremony. We try and hide it behind the boutonnière so it won't show up in your photos.

At the reception, we get an audio feed directly from the DJ or the house audio board if it is possible. If we are unable to do that, we use the on-camera microphone for the speeches.

All of the audio will be edited to get the best possible sound quality.

Question: What is required to book my wedding date?

Answer: In order to reserve your date, a $400 non-refundable deposit is required when signing the contract (click to view the contract). The remaining balance is due by the wedding day. Dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Question: How far do you travel?

Answer: We travel anywhere in the state of Wisconsin at no extra travel cost. We do accept out of state weddings with a fee for travel.

Question: On the wedding day, when does the videographer arrive?

Answer: Coverage for all packages begins up to an hour before the ceremony at the ceremony location. If you would like coverage of the bride getting ready (at the salon or bride's home), we offer a Bridal Preparation as one of our add-ons.

Question: What if my church doesn't allow a videographer past a certain point?

Answer: We have a remote camera system that we can control from a different location. The remote system is on an un-manned tripod, which most locations allow up front. This allows us to still get all of the shots you would normally get with a second videographer.
